Regional Stories – Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Regional Stories, a digital storytelling platform operated by Blue Clay Creatives Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing or using the Regional Stories website, submitting content, pitching stories, partnering as a creator, or engaging with any of our services, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the Regional Stories platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the platform

2. About Regional Stories

Regional Stories is a curated content platform showcasing stories from regional and remote Australia. We publish original content, creator-submitted content, commissioned articles, videos, photography, and community stories.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the platform at any time without notice.

3. User Eligibility

To use or contribute to Regional Stories, you must:

• Be 18 years of age or older; or
  
• Have parent/guardian consent if under 18.
  

By participating, you confirm that any information you provide is accurate and you have the legal authority to share it.

4. Content Submission & Licensing

4.1 Submitting Your Story

By submitting a story, image, video, idea, testimonial, creative work, or other materials (“Content”), you confirm that:

• You are the creator and rights holder OR you have full permission from all rights holders.
  
• Your submission does not infringe copyright, privacy, or any other legal rights.
  

4.2 Licence to Regional Stories

By submitting Content, you grant Regional Stories and Blue Clay Creatives a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to:

• publish, edit, adapt, distribute, display, promote, and archive the Content on our platforms (including website, newsletters, social media, and promotional materials);
  
• use your name, image, and biographical details in connection with the Content.
  

You retain full ownership of your work. You may request removal at any time, and we will make reasonable efforts to comply unless legal, contractual, or archival obligations require otherwise.

5. Creator Partnerships

Professional creators who join Regional Stories as contributors may be subject to an additional Contributor Agreement outlining:

• payment or revenue-share terms (if applicable),
  
• usage rights,
  
• editorial guidelines,
  
• deadlines and deliverables.
  

These agreements supersede general platform terms where relevant.

6. Editorial Rights & Moderation

We reserve the right to:

• review, edit, or decline any submitted Content,
  
• correct typographical or stylistic issues,
  
• remove Content that breaches our standards or these Terms,
  
• disable user access for harmful, defamatory, or unlawful behaviour.
  

We aim to maintain high editorial integrity and uphold the values of respectful regional storytelling

7. Community Standards

Users of Regional Stories must not:

• post or submit defamatory, abusive, hateful, discriminatory, or illegal content;
  
• upload viruses, malicious code, or attempt to disrupt the platform;
  
• impersonate any person or entity.
  

We prioritise a safe and inclusive space for all communities represented on the platform.

8. Intellectual Property

All website materials (logos, design, layout, copy, articles, graphics, videos, branding, and platform features) are owned by Blue Clay Creatives unless otherwise stated.

You may not reproduce, sell, republish, or exploit any part of the platform without written permission.

9. Sponsored Content & Advertising

Regional Stories may publish paid content, advertisements, sponsored stories, or partner features. These will be clearly identified where relevant.

Advertisers are fully responsible for the accuracy, legality, and compliance of their content.

10. Third-Party Links

Regional Stories may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or security practices. Accessing third-party sites is at your own risk.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Regional Stories and Blue Clay Creatives:

• are not liable for any loss, damage, or harm resulting from use of the platform or reliance on published content;
  
• make no guarantees regarding uninterrupted access, error-free performance, or security of the platform.
  

Nothing in these Terms excludes any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Regional Stories and Blue Clay Creatives from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

• your breach of these Terms,
  
• your Content,
  
• your misuse of the platform.
  

13. Privacy

Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using the platform, you consent to the collection, storage, and use of your information as described there.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you breach these Terms or engage in behaviour that undermines the platform’s safety or integrity.

You may request deletion of your account or removal of content at any time.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in NSW courts.
